360 Degree Text in Photoshop 7
In this Tutorial, I will show you how to create
this circular Logo below.
1.) Let's begin by creating a new file. Go to
File > New. Make it 400X 400 pixels on a
white background.
2.) Press D on the keyboard to set the
default Foreground color to black.
3.) Select the Text tool from the tool
palette.
4.) In the options bar (located top of program)
select font style to Arial Black, 60pt and
Smooth, select Caps Lock on the keyboard then click
on the work area to activate the blinking curser.
5.) Now, click the Warped Text button.
6.) When the Style Pop-up menu appears, click the
down arrow and select the Arc setting, check
Horizontal and move the Bend slider all the way to
the right to +100%. Hit OK.
7.) Type your text, and then select the Move tool to
position it on the work area.
Type should now look like this:
8.) Next, Go to Layer > Duplicate Layer
followed by Edit > Transform >
Rotate 180. Click on work area to postion text.
Text should now appear as below.
9.) Select the Text tool. Change font size to
48pt. then click on the work area to activate the
blinking curser. Repeat Step 5, 6 and
7.
Note: You can use the Free Transform tool
here if needed to balance the bottom of text to the
imaginary centerline if needed. (Ctrl+T)
to select, rotate accordingly then click the Move
tool to apply.
10.) Select the Text tool. Change font size
to 24pt. then click on the work area to activate the
blinking curser. Repeat Step 5, 6 and
7, however, this time drag the slider all the
way to the left to -100%.
There you go... Logo template is now in place.
Bonus Freebie
Now, to apply the effects used in the logo.
Open in Photoshop and double-click on any style
listed under one of the Text layers. This
will bring up the Styles palette. Simply
click on the New Style button. A dialog box
will appear. Just hit OK to close, then hit
Cancel to close the Styles palette. Repeat
this procedure once under each Text
layer.
Now, go to Window > Show Styles. In
the Layers palette, click on one of the text
layers to apply an effect to and click on one of the
last four buttons in the Style button palette
until you get the desired effect applied to text.
